Who should host a baby shower?

-Formal etiquette says that someone who's not a relative must throw the shower to avoid having it look as though the family is asking for presents. I say ignore traditional rules. Any relative, close friend, or close co-worker should feel perfectly okay about planning a baby shower. If the shower is going to be a surprise to the mother to be, have a close friend or relative ask mom to be whom she would like to have at a shower should she have one. 

Can I have a baby shower for subsequent pregnancies?

-Traditionally a baby shower is only held for the first baby, but the modern view is that baby showers can be held for subsequent babies as every baby’s birth is a cause for celebration. 

When should I send out invitations to the guests invited to the baby shower?

-At least 2-3 weeks prior to the shower. With your RSVP date at least 1 week prior the shower itself.

Is it still necessary to send out thank you cards?

-Proper etiquette says yes. And the majority of people still appreciate a hand written thank you for the gift they have given. And can even reflect the theme of the shower.

Can a baby shower be co-ed?

-Of course! It is becoming common place to find lots of men at a baby shower. It’s especially nice for the father to be in attendance to help in the celebration of his unborn child. This is a good time to have them play some really funny games that they normally wouldn’t do!

How long before baby is born can the baby shower be held and how long should it last?
-Between one and two months before the mother to be's due date. And should last between 3-4 hours.
